Lacrosse Training

Lacrosse training and conditioning for both sexes is a year-round practice, since the agility, speed and strength required to play does not happen overnight.

For many High School athletes, if not involved in Lacrosse all year (travel teams, clubs), they often participate in another sport such as Track, Cross Country Running, Soccer, or similar sport to help keep up their endurance levels. That is fine, but keep in mind that your body needs time to rest and recuperate. There are ways to keep your body conditioned without further weakening the areas that have perhaps been over-used or strained.

Conditioning is the key, because those that do not work on increasing their strength and flexability in the off season will find it almost impossible to keep up, when season workouts start.

Seek out medical advice from a sports medicine professional when it comes to rehabilitating any particular injury you may have sustained. They can also provide the best recommendation on which course of strengthening program is best.

If you are one of the lucky ones to escape injury free, once rested, you should start an exercise regimine to help build your strength and endurance. Perhaps running on a daily basis and continuing with a strength training at the gym.
